Patient Information Leaflet – Minoxidil Topical Solution / Foam

1. What this product is used for

This product is used to regrow hair on the scalp in men and women who have gradual hair thinning or hereditary hair loss (androgenetic alopecia).
It is suitable for people who have thinning mainly on the crown or top of the scalp.

2. How it works

Minoxidil works by stimulating hair follicles and increasing blood flow to the scalp, helping to revive shrunken hair roots and extend the natural growth phase of hair.
With consistent use, this can result in thicker, stronger hair and less shedding over time.

3. Before you use this product

Do not use if you:

  • Have sudden or patchy hair loss (get guidance from Doctor before you use)

  • Have a red, irritated, infected, or painful scalp

  • Are under 18 years of age

  • Are using other scalp medications

  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding

  • Are allergic to Minoxidil or any ingredient in the formulation

Ask your doctor before use if you ( get the OK from Doctor )

  • Have heart disease or circulation problems

  • Have high or low blood pressure

  • Experience chest pain, dizziness, or swelling in hands or feet

4. Directions for use

Use exactly as directed on the label

Topical Solution (Liquid)

  • Apply 1 mL twice daily directly onto the affected scalp area.

  • Use the supplied dropper for accurate dosing.

  • Spread evenly and allow to dry completely before styling hair. (15-20min)

Topical Foam

  • Apply 1ml (label guides you on how to measure) to the affected scalp area.

  • Massage gently into the scalp, then allow to dry fully.

Using more than the recommended amount will not improve results and may increase the risk of side effects.

For best results, continue use every day as directed (label will guide Men and Women)
If you stop using the product, new hair growth may be lost within a few months. this is because minoxidil is a treatment not a cure (no cure exists for certain types of hair loss)

5. When to stop using and ask a doctor - (these are the more serious side effects - stop using and side effects will be reversed)

Stop using and seek medical advice if you experience:

  • Chest pain, rapid heartbeat, faintness, or dizziness

  • Sudden weight gain or swelling of the hands, feet, or body

  • Scalp irritation, redness, or burning that persists or worsens

  • Unwanted facial hair growth or hair growth in areas other than the scalp (women can reduce dosage when facial hair is experienced)

  • No improvement after 6 months of consistent use (this means that minoxidil is not working for you, consult a doctor to discuss other treatments)

Temporary increased shedding may occur in the first 2–8 weeks — this can be a sign that new hair is pushing out old hairs. (this is very rare and only happens to a small percentage who use - never use too much minoxidil as it does cause shedding as the body is not used to the ammount you are applying)
If excessive shedding continues, stop use and consult a doctor.

6. Most common side effects

Most who use minoxidil do not experience any side effects, however these are the most common

  • Itching, dryness, or flaking of the scalp - counter this by applying another hair care product, like a leave in conditioner 15-20min after the minoxidil has been applied

  • Mild irritation at the site of application - the skin usually adapts over days, if it continues consult with us

Severe reactions are rare but may include allergic rash, swelling, or shortness of breath — stop use immediately and seek medical help if these occur.
